Ron Paul rallyToday, Republican Party of Minnesota chairman Pat Shortridge announced that presidential candidate Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) will speak at the upcoming GOP State Convention.

"I am pleased to announce that Congressman Ron Paul will be addressing the Republican State Convention in St Cloud on Friday, May 18, sometime in the evening following the conclusion of the US Senate endorsement."

Gov. Scott Walker and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett are set for a rematch of the 2010 gubernatorial election, this time in the June 5 gubernatorial recall election.

House votes to send amended bonding bill to Dayton

dayton road work aheadOn Tuesday, the Minnesota House of Representatives signed off on the $496 million bonding bill passed by the Senate on Monday. The House voted to accept the changes included in the Senate version of the bill.  The house passed the bill by a 97-33 vote.

Highlights of the new and more expensive bonding bill include $64 million to the University of Minnesota, $132 million for MnSCU, $44 million for renovations to the State Capitol, $30 million for flood mitigation, and a several millions more for local roads and bridges.
