Representatives Glenn Gruenhagen (R-Glencoe) defeated Ron Shimanski (R-Silver Lake) for the party endorsement in the new House District 18B.
Senators Michelle Benson (R-Ham Lake) deated Michael Jungbauer (R-East Bethel) for the party endorsement in the new Senate District 31.
Representatives Matt Dean (R-Dellwood) defeated Carol McFarlane (R-White Bear Lake) for the party endorsement in the new House District 38B, though McFarlane has not decided whether or not she will enter a primary.

Representatives Frank Hornstein (DFL- Minneapolis) defeated Marion Greene (DFL-Minneapolis) for the DFL party endorsement in the new House District 61A.

Senator Gary Kubly (DFL-Granite Falls) passed away on Friday, March 2, leaving an open seat in current Senate District 20. Lyle Koenen (DFL-Clara City) won the April 10 special election to fill Senate District 20.
